Two black, women-owned luxury home decor brands teamed up to create a limited edition candle titled “Dear Black Girl” designed to empower. Launches on Black Girl Magic Day, Feb. 15, 2022.
NEW YORK, NY - January 9, 2023 – Cecilia's House x The 125 Collection's first collaboration, the Dear Black Girl candle, combines the love of luxury candles with principles of design psychology proven to enhance one's outlook on life. A custom fragrance candle created by Valerie Wray of The 125 Collection with a manifesto for Black women and girls designed by Kadisha Phillips of Cecilia's House. Each time the candle is lit is an act of self-care and self-reflection.
This collaboration between these two brands truly reflects the candle’s manifesto that reads:
“Dear Black Girl, you can be whoever you want to be. You have the right to learn, grow, and make mistakes. Be bold and never dim your light. You are the sum of all the women who came before you. Because of them, you can do anything.”
These two New York City-founded brands have independently taken the country by storm with features in major publications such as Allure, Forbes, Nylon, Oprah Daily, BuzzFeed, US Weekly, Essence, and more.
The candle launches on February 15th, 2023, on Black Girl Magic Day on both sites www.ceciliashouse.com and www.the125collection.com. The candle is a paraben-free soy candle that will burn for approximately 80 hours. Available in 5 custom fragrances.
